A Rocky Season With A Happy Ending

Cowboys Kicker Brett Maher Redeems Himself With Game-Winning Field Goal

A Rocky Season With a Happy Ending

Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher had a season to forget in 2022. After missing four field goals in the team's first three games, Maher was released by the Cowboys and replaced by Lirim Hajrullahu. However, Hajrullahu was also unable to find consistency, and Maher was re-signed by the Cowboys in December. In his second stint with the team, Maher connected on 10 of 11 field goals and helped the Cowboys win their final four games of the regular season.

A Game-Winning Kick

In the Cowboys' Wild Card playoff game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Maher redeemed himself with a 43-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The field goal gave the Cowboys a 31-24 lead, and they went on to win the game. Maher's performance in the playoffs has given the Cowboys hope that he can be a long-term solution at the kicker position.
